Russian tanker shows Arctic is navigable year-roundBY JORDI Melting ice in the Arctic allowed a Russian gas tanker to sail through the Northern Sea Route in the middle of winter for the first time. The success of the voyage confirms the year-round navigation of the entire length of the Northern Sea Route, the shortest passage between Europe and Asia, according to Russian shipping company Sovcomflot.
